The Mingus Union girls basketball team traveled to Camp Verde on Dec. 18 for a Verde Valley match up against the Cowboys. The Marauders and Cowboys battled through four tough quarters of play and the Marauders emerged the victors, 37-30. After the winter break, the Marauders hit the court Dec. 28-Dec. 31 at the Northwest Desert Classic at Pusch Ridge High School. See results in next week's Verde Independent.

The Marauders begin their 4A II Grand Canyon Region schedule on Tuesday with a game at home against the Sinagua Mustangs at 5:30 p.m.
