How to run for Sedona City Council

A meeting sponsored by the Sedona Chamber of Commerce will be 6-7:30 p.m. providing information on becoming a candidate for City Council. Mary Schnack, of Mary Schnack & Associates, will offer tips and tools on how to promote yourself in a campaign. Also on hand will be Lita Cox, of Cox Durango Architects who will offer tips on using social media to your advantage in a campaign.

Discuss Changing Climate and Fire in the West

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension will host two distinguished speakers from the University of Arizona Laboratory of Tree Ring Research on the evening.
Dr. Malcolm Hughes will present "Our Changing Climate" and Dr. Tom Swetnam will present "Fire in the Changing West." Each presentation will be followed by a period for questions and discussion.
The presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Boardroom (on the first floor) at 1015 Fair Street in Prescott.
There is no fee to attend and seating is first come, first served.
Arts 'N' Crafts Fair at Immaculate Conception

The Act Committee of Immaculate Conception Church is sponsoring its second annual Arts 'N' Crafts Sale from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Clemeneau Museum Gym on the corner of Mingus and Willard Streets in Cottonwood.
To date there are 43 vendors/spaces taken with all kinds of homemade items for Christmas/holiday gifts. Also for sale will be homemade goodies and all kind of homemade pies, cakes and tortillas. After-School Reading Club starts
Join the after-school Reading Club in the Kids Zone at the Cottonwood Public Library. You don't even have to read...they'll read to you. The club meets Mondays (except holidays) 3:30-4:15 p.m.

Learn the country-western waltz

Ceremony for naming of Mickelsen Parkway

In honor of Brian Mickelsen and the City of Cottonwood's celebration of Cities and Towns' Week, the dedication and unveiling of the new signs for Brian Mickelsen Parkway is at 10 a.m. on the corner of Mingus and Paula Street. This dedication event officially marks Paula Street's name change. Paula will be closed at Mingus beginning at 9:30 a.m. Attendees should enter through Sixth Street and park close to Garrison Park. City Clerk Marianne Jimenez has reserved the Ramada at Garrison Park, where refreshments will be served.
