You did not answer the question.

Where is the proof of gangs in Cottonwood?

Gaia gurl is blind! There are gangs everywhere, hanging out in Jerome, Cottonwood, Camp Verde and Sedona. They are riding around together in big groups, wearing their colors, sometimes you see only one or two.

They are motorcycle gangs, doing runs for charity, wearing leather and spending their money here for Thunder Valley Rally and other gang events.

Of course, most of us are retired lawyers, doctors and accountants but we look really tough!

Ok I just have to comment on this one more time..
@ I got one question

your statement "anonymous hillbilly"
stereo type much?

Just to clarify why I use "country boy"
I am about my country simple as that!!
like the term "company man" = for his company
"country boy" = for my country

however you can run with the hillbilly thing if it works for you.

Where is the proof of gangs in Cottonwood? We are supposed to just take the word of an advertised anonymous hillbilly?

Over the police

Over the local newspaper

Over our own eyes

@ Think I will wait,
Never said I got my information from my kids however I am a very involved parent with my kids lives as one should be. I attend events with them, go to ball games, the park, local events etc with them and I see reality for myself , as I should, as a responsible parent and citizen should, right?????
I know sounds like and out dated concept to those like you that see values as "unicorns".

No the PD is not hiding the fact that there are street gangs in the Verde Valley they actually bring the issue more to light.

Don't need to live in an intercity community with metal detectors, bars and barb wire parks to have a gang issue.
There are all types of gang issues locally and they are off all types, ages and colors including WHITE just so you all don't decide to try to pull the racial thing on my little post here.

But hey if ya wanna live in your rosy sunshine and lolipop land of delusion by all means feel free. Ignorance is bliss right gaia !!!

Until I actually 'see a Unicorn' before I start believing in Unicorns.

Sorry if I just don't find 'Country Boy' and some guy named 'Chris Myers' convincing.

'Country Boy' gets his information from his kids. I can imagine those conversations . . .

"Daddy the gang ate my homework."
"Can't go to school today Daddy, because the gang is gonna beat me up."
"I got an 'F' in math because of the gangs Daddy."

We should accept his premise, cause we all know the newspaper and police are in a conspiracy to hide the gangs.

Chris you are talking . . . nothing to support your premise . . . you could be sitting at a bar right now tellin your 'tall tales.'

When I taught in gang areas . . . we had metal detectors at all the schools to prevent the gangs from bringing weapons, like straight edge razors in their mouths, guns or knives.

What kind of 'gangs' are these, here in Cottonwood? 'Quilting Circles?' Maybe its the Scouts? Boy or Girl Scouts? I know . . . it's all those Christian "Youth Groups" . . . now there is a gang if I ever saw one!

Now don't go around doing drive by shootings just to prove your point . . .

There are gangs in Cottonwood and Clarkdale. They have been operating here for several years. They are beginner splinter cells from gangs in California and New York. Some are adults. Some are children/young adults. My daughter just graduated after 2 years a MUHS. During those 2 years it was very clear who the gang members were and that were attending school (yes some of them actually attend school). And students knew to steer clear of them. Some of the students from MUHS have been beaten up behind Home Depot, Players and various other places. Gangs are told to operate covertly. They operate like cockroaches - under cover at night. Some of the kids are offsprings of the adult gang members that have taken up residence here. So yes, there are gangs here Gaia Gurl and I don't know why we don't see more of their activity reported in the crimes section of the Verde Independent or Cottonwood Journal unless they are trying to infiltrate them just as covertly as the gangs have managed to infiltrate our area.

I am NOT talking about Chino Valley or even PRESCOTT.

I am talking about COTTONWOOD.

Why would I believe someone who cannot even CONSTRUCT a proper sentence? LOL

Funny . . . I have seen TWO articles in this newspaper referencing GANGS, both times they only mentioned GRAFFITI.

Amazing how this newspaper TOTALLY keeps all other gang activity out of the paper and there was NO MENTION of gang activity in the recently released police statistics . . .

NO mention of gang activity in the recent home invasion . . .

So now because there are Mexican people living here . . . THAT is your proof of gang activity.

Do you HAVE A CLUE of how STUPID you sound?

I highly doubt that Gaia Gurl is a local teacher at all. If in fact she is then she needs to be FIRED because she clearly has no skills in observation and or supervision of our local youth!!!!!

I have 4 kids that are attending 3 locations for the Cottonwood school system and they are very aware of gang issues.

Live life blind and delusional but please don't put it out there that you are a local teacher because if you are then GOD HELP US! and CWOCSD needs to revamp the standards to hire educators.

No wait, on second thought as a whole our teachers seem to be pretty decent and observant so please Gaia Gurl if you are a teacher get a clue and if your not then don't post bs.

For all those that don't think there is gangs here in our little community wake up because there are and they come in all colors, and ya there is cartel players too!!!!

Gaia Gurl. You havn't taught at NEW VISIONS Academy apparently! where like 80 percent of students are Juggulos...(a likeminded group of youngsters bound together by a love of insane clown posse music, doing drugs, and any crime that is FUN) not really a "gang", but in the absence of SEF they will do...(SEF if the hispanic street gang claiming most of cottonwood, Lower oak creek estates, and the Verde Villages, that is over 20 members strong with real ties to Mexican drug cartels) you may have missed all of them as Cottonwood police put many away in lock up for aggrivated assaults, burglaries with firearms, and gang style 7-on-1 attacks that left people in the hospital with skull fractures...their not to be confused with NS-14 the Nortenos gang tagging all of the units right now...

you seem to only have quick references to articles that support your liberal stance...quick find me the article about the biker gang shootout in Chino Valley ...
Dont have that one? Don't worry I've got it for you...

And by the way the home invasion- robbery -attempted murder of late was gang related....

Another example of shoddy reporting. No ages listed. It's no wonder the readers have to resort to guessing games to try and understand the real story here.

Most of the kids in our town attend church and youth groups, they are not gang members. Do some get into trouble? Of course, they are kids, they are not perfect and neither are some of their home situations. But as a whole, we have nice kids in this community.

Another newspaper listed these two as 31 and 25, they are obviously not the graffiti vandals.

Gotta agree with Gaia though . . . being charged with a crime is totally different than being convicted in a court of law of a crime.

@ Two Cents

Congratulationsyours is the funniest post Ive read in a long, long time, and I laugh heartily pretty much every day at the comments I find in this section (M J, unintentionally, is a regular Henny Youngman!)

They swooped in, took over the deli section, and ate all the fried chicken.

Did they pay for their chicken lunches or just knock the attendant to the ground and stampede through the food-warmers, gobbling up everything in sight?!

Its called being a TEENAGER!

And BTW.where in the above article does it say anything about teens or graffiti?

@ Anti Graffiti

Nice to see another Italian join the community!
Used to date a girl named named Grafininni.

I like to imagine a few hundred years back, say, near Sedona or in Fossil Creek, hearing a grumpy old tribal elder complain about the unsightly 'blight' as other members of the tribe etched primitive figures of snakes or bears or mountain sheep into the pristine sandstone.

After all, they didn't have DTv back then and youth boredom is eternal.

I can also hear one of those artistic tribesmen/women chortling to themselves saying, "Hey, let's make some non-nonsensical shapes like a kind of concentric-circle design or one with crossed 'Z's" that future people will confuse with a backwards swastika just for fun! That will give the old chiefs lots to vetch about and give them something to do when they try to clean it up. Oh, and it could cause the whiteman untold frustration trying to decipher our code!"

Who knows, maybe some of the present day blight will fascinate future observers.

What happnes when the cops are bored?

That's when you see the radar traps, the school locker searches with the sniffer dog, the bar checks and the myth of a gangs CW! Flagstaff is barely able to justify one...but 3 kids with baggie pants does not make a gang. Nor does meth sales...that's a different animal all together.

Stay Thirsty My Friends!
