Letter: Go ahead, Obama, Jan says it is OK

I see that Jan Brewer, taking a break from her exhausting duties as CEO of AZ, Inc. made a ‘surprise’ visit to Afghanistan.

Thankfully, the heretofore doubting-Thomas old war horse had this to say after her visit: “I feel very, very confident that they are doing what [commanders and service members] believe is right ... and they are doing it the right way.”

She described the entire experience “surreal” and said that its easy to “forget that everyone is carrying real guns and they are putting their lives on the line ... It’s the real deal.”

Imagine that, a ‘real’ war with ‘real’ guns.

Who’d a thought?

You can’t get anything past ole Jan, except maybe certifying elections in her home state.

Phil Falbo

@ Nux Man

It sure seems everything you say and think is all about perpetuating your own mythology, which in itself is all about justifying your selfish existence and your narcissistic lifestyle. Your conspiracy theories are so over-the-top that they leave you with absolutely no credibility. You should try crawling out of your bunker once in awhile and looking about you at the real world. There really is no reason to live your life in fear and dread of the perceived 'commies' that you believe are out to get you, and take away all your precious possessions. Soon enough your GOP will put forth another 'chicken hawk' candidate to make you feel like all your fears are justified.

It's probably about time for you to refill the generator, so watch out for the 5-bladed U.N. helicopters overhead!

Just a little stir of sugar for your Kool-Aid! Enjoy!!!

@ nux

Talk about a rant? You may have missed a few Ann Coulter, Rush and Fox "News" talking point lies, by the way.

Surely you could do better.

That you do not find Brewer's comments about 'real guns' particularly bizarre for someone visiting a war zone speaks more to your inability to discern stupidity than anything else.

That you make ignorant accusations about liberals and military service just exposes you for what you are.

You should be ashamed.

The orig. article I left alone - the posts were an obvious liberal rant fest by design. But this revisit is a blatant smear for no other reason than to stir the pot of discontent, so here you go liberals.
Jan never once said anything about permission being given, or is that just a little more truth bending to suit your agenda Mr. Falbo? Jan admits after the visit that she doesn't know everything - what a freek'n epiphany! A politician saying out loud they don't know! Who does she think she is? This could undermine our entire political structure if we peasants start thinking these elitists aren't the gods we've been sold.
Yes - Jan is an elitist, but to the best of my knowledge she didn't spend million's of her own cash fighting court battles across the country to hide her birth records, passport records, school records, medical records, or using a SS# from a State that she never, ever, lived in. Thats right - The Birther Movement, (the rash that just won't go away because it will never heal).
Regardless of whatever liberal lies are spoken, this Barry Obama individual is a fraud. His own "story" paints his dad as a deadbeat and his mother as a whore. Imagine what the truth really is if this is the best lie his "handlers" could come up with.
We Arizonan's have quite a few service members over there, and I for one am glad our governor finally, after all these years, decided to visit. Unless you've served, (not likely any of our Verde Liberals have), you have no idea what it means to see your representatives standing on the same ground you're charged with defending.
I would say shame on you for discounting what this means for the vets, but since shame isn't something liberals have much issue with I'll just say - You Liberals Deserve Everything Thats Coming, (don't worry about conservatives, we tend to plan ahead, and the planning is in overdrive now).
Just a little stir for this Monday morning, have a nice day!

In this age of video games in which our children "kill" people every day, and we see hundreds of people in movies on HBO. I can understand how it would be surreal to be in a combat zone with real guns. If Jan were a left winger you would be praising her for her visit to Afghanistan. There are no grey areas for you Phil. It all or nothing. Dems are good. Reps are bad. There is no in between with you.

When I read that article about her trip I couldn't believe the naivete or just plain ignorance coming out of this Governor's mouth. Please people, see that she doesn't win this fight with Ken Follett to run for re-election in 2014.

It is time to force the retirement of ms Jan brewer. This woman has cost az taxpayers enough money with her ignorance. Between her and a few other disgraced republicans causing lawsuits galore? It is shameful. She and THEM are costing Arizona tourism dollars and business prospects. Time for Jan to move on. Too bad she does not take her friend the palin route and just quit. NOW

Did you get approval from your supervisor John Bond before writing this Mr. Falbo?

Too much independent thought can be dangerous for acolytes like you. Next time better to be safe and ask for your mentor's approval before venturing out onto new subjects.

We missed an opportunity to cut government waste in half...we could've bought her a one way ticket. (snare drum)

But the Gov. illustrates a problem with modern warfare which is that the folks who are funding it (taxpayers) are detached from the reality of it.

By the way, who exactly voted for this clueless egomaniac? Raise your hands so everyone can see.
