Letter: Romney wins strength of character hands-down

Editor:

Mr. Lockway (It boils down to character) seems to suggest that when Romney gives his own money to church it is a character flaw. The Obamas can take lavish vacations at taxpayer expense and that’s OK.

He claims Romney took a tax break (a legal one) on a house in California when poor California school teachers are being laid off as if it is not failed Liberal policies in California that are to blame but rich conservatives that are milking the system..

Obama claims that Romney lied in the debate … what’s the lie? Romney’s plan to balance the budget has never had a $5.5 trillion tax increase as Obama claims. The CBO is the one that said the only way to do it is to raise taxes by 5.5 trillion not Romney. Romney’s plan is to raise revenues by putting America back to work and producing more taxpayers. That, along with spending cuts, is Romney’s plan to get to a balanced budget It’s worth noting here Obama has no plan.

Obama says that “a different Romney showed up at the debate.” This in a way is true. The Romney the president has been portraying for the last few months is not the real Romney. The one that showed up to the debate is.

If you examine Obamas’ past, with whom he has been associated, his auto-biograghy in which he admits while still in high school, he “attended class seldomly, drank beer heavily, smoked pot frequently and did drugs enthusiastically.” It’s easy to see when it comes to strength of character, Romney wins hands down.

Mr. White [how apropos]:

It is patently obvious to me that those of you who post your vitriolic condemnations of President Obama in an effort to gain support for Mitt Romney have no idea how utterly hateful, and spiteful your comments come across to the readers of your letters.

I have an idea, why donít all of you, you know who you are, sit down together and read aloud your letters to the entire group of you before you submit them for publication.

I know this is no likely to be very productive because unfortunately, collectively you will all stand up cheering wilding, applauding madly to express your complete support for each and every hateful letter that is submitted.

However, even if there is just one slim chance that it might cause you to reconsider submitting such hateful drivel, I urge to make the effort to stop yourselves from continuing to make fools of yourselves.í

On the other hand, since every one of your letters probably gains more votes for President Obama maybe I should just urge you on like the yokel you are in order to assure a victory for President Obama.

It is just so very, very painful to have to read such drivel over and over again, ad nauseam.

I can do it, but admittedly, I have to keep a bucket handle while reading your tripe.

Article comment by: mr. white is a great example of a selective moral compass...

where to begin... i guess a point by point is best-

1-the issue with church donations may have more to do with using that as a tool to increase his tax rate to the spoken amount- even though he can refile and get the $ back and then be below his promised rate.

2-perhaps romneys love/hate relationship with teachers is a good example.. for the lat 18 montha/2 years he is all about getting rid of teacher unions and the dept. of education- then in debate poof.. he ~loves~ teachers?

3-the lie is documented over and over... 20 percent cut across the board including the 1% per romney. that has a cost and arithmetic works. perhaps you missed his 47% video? his plan there was just magic... once he is elected the money will just flow and people will create jobs without him doing anything. nice plan... poof magic jobs.

4-the debate romney was a last ditch attempt from a desparate mane with nothing to lose. moderate mitt. will you abide by the claims he set out and changes in his position? are you now pro-choice? are you happy that his pre-existing plan does not really exist? atleast he kept the fact checking industry busy for a week trying to sort out all his blatant lies... to deny that is to deny reality and show what you are in fact made of.

5-with regards to the past of each man... what was the saying... judge not lest ye be judged? if you want to forget about romney impersonating police officers, assaulting kids in school, and strapping a dog to the car roof ... well hey that's your choice... i dare say you may not have made it through your teen years without at least a few items off obama's list in your life...

the real issue is the fact that your choice as a conservative candidate is now claiming to be a moderate at every possible turn... leaving you nothing to do but defend who it was you thought your were electing..just to make yourself feel better about it.

might as well vote obama... much to the chagrin of his supporters he is probably a more conservative option that that chameleon shape shifter named romney... at least you know what you are getting with obama.... romney is a new gamble every day...are you a gambling man?
