Letter: It’s Not Just About The 47 Percenters

The video of Mitt Romney’s speech to a Florida gathering of the wealthy shows his utter contempt for much of America.

Who are those he considers to be “freeloaders?” They are not the “welfare queens” and lazy louts you might expect. The 47 percent who have not paid federal income taxes in the past few years include the working poor, the elderly, veterans, military who are serving in a combat zone, even the wealthy who have enough tax write-offs to zero out their federal income taxes.

But Mitt didn’t limit his disparaging comments to the 47 percent. He also went out of his way to insult Latinos and other minorities. And he again inserted his highly polished loafers in his mouth with regard to foreign policy by saying that Palestinians do not want peace, so as president, he would just kick the issue down the road.

None of this should come as any surprise to those who have looked at Romney’s career.

As a vulture capitalist, he showed complete disdain for those who lost their jobs as the result of his hostile takeovers and business conquests. His tax-evading investments in offshore accounts display a lack of patriotism for the country that allowed him to accumulate wealth. And his trip to Europe during the Olympics showed his arrogance and lack of tact with regard to foreign policy, leading European media to label him “Mitt the Twit” and the “American Borat.”

So let’s review: Contempt for nearly half of our voters, dismantling American companies and shipping jobs overseas, legalized tax evasion, and incompetence in dealing with foreign leaders.

Exactly why should anyone other than the very wealthy vote for you, Mitt?

Gary LaMaster

The greed in this country by all states and the
feds is well deserved, as we allow it and demand it.
If the people we send to DC dont send money back to their states they won't get elected. Then if we don't spend every cent the
gov won't send anymore.
So just blame it on the Bosinova. So it looks
like the jokes on us.

So Nutso Fast agrees that in our current economic meltdown and ineffective congress and senate that Mitt Romney is the far more effective cadidate to put in the white house. Will wonders never cease a liberal finally makes sense. After all I would rather have someone who gets things done and can't communicate well to large groups than Pres. Obama who communicates very well to large groups and gets nothing done.

Shh! Don't tell those pro-Obama demonstrators. Don't want them writing in "George Bush" on their ballots.

like ann coulter said-if romney gets the nomination we will lose. and that is exactly what is going to happen. this is going to to take some major air out of the tea parties agenda. that is a good thing, in my view. they will finally have to compromise.

"To vote for Romney would be a vote to destroy Social Security, Medicare…"
That's almost certainly not going to happen.

Mitt Romney's a wonk. Unlike his father George, whose family fled a commune during the Mexican revolution, who worked farm fields and construction in his youth, and who lived through two depressions that busted the family construction business twice, Mitt Romney led a relatively sheltered life. He made his fortune analyzing facts and figures and devising investment strategies that, at their best, benefitted all parties involved. He may be a brilliant financial problem analyzer, but he's an inveterate dork when it comes to communicating with large groups of people. His record as governor suggests he'd be better at dealing with a cantankerous Congress than Obama, but it's hard to imagine him as an inspiring public figure for most Americans.

Meanwhile, Obama continues to impress the 47%:
"President Obama, you didn't pay for that phone. Others did that."

claiming the 'libbies' have loose screws

he paints a picture of his hate
and like bob ross he is first rate

dark angry clouds here

assuring all others he does not care

yet if that was true and the case
then why waste time in this place

if your position is so secure
then why not be more demure

perhaps this is all you have to do
a virtual nanny nanny boo hoo

visions of the 2nd grade float by
on a play ground trying to make the girls cry

but that was because you liked them
and could not sort out how to show 'em

now you older and deep inside love the libbies
the progressives the dem's and even the hippies

they live in a place you might never
open minded witty and clever

no need to despise
just open your eyes
now you are the little one who cries...

ahhhhhhhh ........ If you knew that someone was breaking federal law by not paying their proper and due taxes by keeping two sets of books, and said nothing about it...... then I believe that makes you accessory to a crime.

I cant even imagine a decent old fashion Republican voting for mr Rmoney. This man does not stand for anyone. The only people voting for him are either greedy, ignorant, racist, extreme religious, or down right hate filled. This man is a insult to America and Americans. He is the problem. Clown after clown for the last year coming from THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, and the last clown standing? Willard mitt Romney. A flip flopper, liar, draft dodger, secret nobody insulting Americans in every corner of our society. NO THANKS.

The GOP has morphed into a fascist, elitist gang of very greedy money grubbers. The constant fear-mongering about terrorism and their conspiracy theories are just a way of diverting people from looking to closely at their real agenda. To vote for Romney would be a vote to destroy Social Security, Medicare and the middle class. We cannot allow the Wall Street Ponzi schemes that keep coming, one after the other, to continue. Anyone that thinks investing in Wall Street is an equal opportunity, level playing field where you can put your money without it being stolen is delusional.

To Living In An Alternate Universe.
You're right. But here's the thing, those who want to live off you and your work, your investments, your hard drive, are the very people who 'just can't understand' why everyone's SO upset about taxes, because they don't PAY taxes. LOL. But they can vote! It's only so long before all the people who get up and go to WORK and pay TAXES are out numbered by those who don't. Then who's gonna take care of all you people??? The Government? LOL, they're bankrupt.

MJ ought to be banned from commenting in the future!
I worked in automotive shops for 30 years and every one of them had two sets of books. If every business man out there would just pay their FAIR share of taxes, we (America) would be fine!
