The Aimees - Live Musical Duo at ChocolaTree
Chocolatree Organic Eatery & Marketplace
1595 West Hwy 89A
Aimée Ringle and Aimée Kelley hail from Port Townsend, Washington where they make their home and their music on the edge of the cedar forests and cliff beaches of the Puget Sound. They have been singing together for the past four years as a duo and also as part of the song leading trio called "Songweavers" with Cascadia's beloved Laurence Cole. Known regionally as "The Aimée's", they have been praised for the depth and richness of their harmonies, and the healing quality of their energy together as it shines through the songs that they collect and create.
As part of the community singing movement that has spread and blossomed all along the West Coast, the Aimée's have learned the joy and value of carrying and sharing songs to suit and honor the many shades and textures of life as we can consciously experience it. They have written and collected songs to be shared at weddings, wakes, rites of passage, seasonal celebrations and ceremonies, campfires, ecstatic dances, rituals, births, deaths, and in the sweet company of their immediate and extended communities. Their repertoire integrates the work of Peter Mayer, Laura Veirs, Jules Graves, MaMuse, Namoli Brennet, Pete Seeger, among others with lush harmonies and guitar. These arrangements, as well as their own original compositions are gathered and sung in the service of healing and renewal. An evening length concert is a stringing together of brilliant beads, lined up in a story of wonder and bound with breath and harmony! Bring your own voice and heart, ready to sing along!
