Lifetime Achiever Max Castillo
Cottonwood's Max Castillo is the 2015 Lifetime Achiever honoree among this year's Verde Valley Community Champions.

Castillo recently retired from Arizona State Parks. He was on the ground floor when Dead Horse Ranch State Park was born and worked at the park for 40 years.

COTTONWOOD - Danny Watkins has been awarded the Verde Valley Community Champions Award for Education. Watkins has been at teacher at Cottonwood Middle School for 19 years and has done nothing but succeed as a teacher and is more than deserving for this award, says Cottonwood-Oak Creek Superintendent Barbara U'Ren.
