The Walls of Jerome: They are works of art and the town's most overlooked historic treasures
Fifteen-hundred retaining walls and 1,500-feet of elevation separate the house known as the Eagle's Nest at the entrance into Jerome from Prescott to its lowest residences -- a couple of twisty miles as you follow the highway through town. They are Jerome's most impressive, and sadly, most overlooked, architectural treasures.

Free Legal Clinic at Cottonwood Public Library

Community Legal Services, Inc. from Prescott is partnering with the Cottonwood Public Library to offer a Free Legal Clinic at the library on Friday from 2 to 3 pm. Areas of interest is health and economic security and employment, including Social Security, AHCCCS, wage claims and employment discrimination. All applicants must qualify for services before speaking with an attorney. Please bring all relevant legal documents.

Jerome Art Walk

Sept. 6

Jerome Art Walk continues its momentum with its first Saturday celebration of art in September. Twenty-five galleries and studios will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with art, music and refreshments. This free event has become a Verde Valley favorite with a shuttle that will transport you from the Old Jerome High School, up to the center of town with The Lincoln Gallery and Made in Jerome Pottery and The Adorn Collection across from The Legendary Haunted Hamburger. The post-holiday weekend is the perfect time to enjoy late night dinner hours at Jerome's great restaurants or even spend the night at a lovely lodging. Many tourists use the word 'hair-raising' to describe the ride down Highway 89A from Mingus Mountain to Jerome and Clarkdale, a distance of about 18 miles. It is a steep, curvy road with some unprotected drop offs.  These days, there's an accident most every week.
