How often do you take a moment to think about the people who shaped your life? Think for a minute, who were the important people that influenced you?

Imagine now if you took all of them away. That is what life is like for over 400 children at Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The majority of these kids are boys, mainly raised by a single mom or grandparent. These boys are waiting for a caring male figure to share everyday experiences with and to just have fun with!

Being a Big Brother doesn't take any special qualities, money or gifts, all it takes is a few hours a month to make a huge difference in a child's life. Take that first step and volunteer to be a Big Brother today!

Meet Aiden, an adventurous, 7-year-old second grader, waiting for a Big Brother to explore the outdoors with. Aiden loves to run fast and play on the swings. He wants to get better at climbing trees and ropes and dreams of someday being able to build a wooden fort.

Aiden also wants to learn to ride his bike. Aiden and his mother used to live in Phoenix where she said he played indoors a lot, mostly with video games. She would love to see him matched with a Big Brother that could do outdoor activities with him, like fishing and hiking and "teach him how to just be a boy."

Aiden and his mom recently moved back to the area, where they are originally from.

He is having some challenges starting a new school, but has made some good friends along the way.

He likes school and gets good grades. His favorite subject is writing, a few of his favorite stories he has written were called, "Alien Attack" and "Hamster Invasion." He also loves art and drawing.

Join Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters today by becoming a Big Brother of Big Sister to a young person like Aiden! Just a few hours a couple times a month is all it takes to change a life.
