COTTONWOOD - Sears owners Lisa and Paul Peterson opened their new Sears home store location on April 29, taking up the old Pro Build property along State Route 89A.

The former building near Food City had a parking lot between its front doors and the road, where potential customers were able to drive by without knowing the Sears was there.

"At the other location, we would maybe see one or two people between 5 and 7 p.m.," Peterson said. "Being closer to the street, not tucked in the corner, we're seeing an increase in those shoppers."

That evening slow-down was usually spent catching up on things like store cleanup, but "we don't have that time anymore, which is great," she said.

The new location has a 7,500-square-foot showroom. Peterson said they've added three more part-time staff in sales, and one more part-time warehouse worker.

Back in November, Peterson said the investors who purchased the building were making some improvements, like redoing the outer stucco facade.

"It's nice, clean, new store with new LED lights, and a bright, airy, open feeling," she said. "We're getting good feedback from the community."

What a great looking store. It is such an improvement along 89 A. Congratulations to the Petersons on their new location and to Backus Building Company on the great job.
