The Cultural Committee of the JCSVV continues with its mission of bringing cultural events to the Verde Valley in August by hosting Diane Kaplan on Sunday at 7 p.m. Diane is an Israeli/American singer songwriter, who returns for an encore performance following her well received concert in 2012. Diane's performances are peppered with stories of her personal journey to understand her fate as a child of survivors.
This program will be at the Jewish Community of Sedona an d the Verde Valley which is located at 100 Meadowlark Drive in the Chapel area of Sedona. There is no fee to attend but donations are encouraged to help Diane defray her expenses on her trip to America. A reception with the artist will follow the presentation.

Parkinson Disease support group
People with Parkinson disease who make the effort to learn about how to cope with the symptoms of Parkinson Disease usually experience a higher quality of life, maintain better health and remain more independent that those who isolate themselves and don't seek out support. The Verde Valley Parkinson Support Group's meeting, 3-4:30 p.m., in Conference Room B of the Verde Valley Medical Center will focus on sharing information, tips and experiences, discussing medical resources, and learning more about how to maintain an optimum quality of life while living with PD.

Small to large are $15 and 2XL and 3XL are $20. Show your support for the women of the Verde Valley, and don't forget to attend the fund-raising event on Aug. 10 at Windmill Park in Cornville. Blood Drive at Rainbow Acres
Rainbow Acres will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Palmer Community Center. The public is welcome and encouraged to participate. No boring hospital cubicle or stuffy trailer here - relax in a spacious room with beautiful Verde Valley views while you donate, and get free fresh-baked cookies and juice afterwards.

Rotellini to speak to Democrats
Democrats of the Verde Valley (DOVV) invite you to hear Felicia Rotellini, candidate for AZ Attorney General, at their meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Randall's restaurant, 891 S. Main St., Cottonwood.
Rotellini was a previous candidate for State Attorney General, working in the Attorney General's office. She will give us an update on legal issues facing Arizonans at this time. All are welcome. Refreshments.
