COTTONWOOD - It’s a small shop, but Michele Hayman has it full of antiques, collectibles, jewelry, paintings, sculptures and plenty of local art.

“There are so many amazing local artists, and I plan on having as many as I can hold,” Michele said.

She also hopes to expand the shop she opened at 1006 N. Main St. in Cottonwood.

“But right now, I call my shop the little shop with a lot of heart,” she said.

Her inventory includes Native American art as well as different media paintings, such as pointillism.

She says her shop will serve the full Verde Valley and all visitors to the area.

“I search for the unusual antiques and collectibles,” Michele explained. “Right now I would say the most unusual item I have is a hand carved sheet music cabinet and a wicker tête-à-tête.”

Michele is the sole owner of the shop, and she is very optimistic about her business location.

“Old Town Cottonwood is the place to go in the Verde Valley,” she said. “People from all over come to see not only the antique stores but also the boutiques, clock shop, wineries and the rock shop.”

The shop is closed on Wednesday and open from 10 to 5 Monday through Saturday and 11 to 5 on Sunday.
