St. Thomas of the Valley Episcopal Church in Clarkdale announces some special Advent Services that help us prepare for Christmas. All services are open to the community.
On Sunday, Dec. 13, the service of “Lessons & Carols” will be held during the regular 9 a.m. worship service. This is an old English custom passed down through the centuries. It is a retelling of the coming of the Christ child with music and scripture readings.
On Christmas Eve, there will be two services to accommodate everyone’s busy schedule. The services will be at 7 and 11 p.m., with a half hour of Carol singing before each service.
Advent services prepare us for the true meaning of Christmas, a peaceful repose in the traditional mad rush of the season.
For further information call the church at (928) 634-8593. The church is located across from the Post Office in Clarkdale (one block off historic 89A).
