Registration is now open for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute's summer semester, which begins Monday and continues to Aug. 15.
This semester offers over 50 low cost learning groups (classes) and workshops on the Sedona and Verde Valley campuses.
Some of the summer's offerings include Links to Literature, Age Management Medicine, Human Consciousness, National Pet Preparedness, Creativity, and America's Backstage Revealed.
Fee is a $10 membership plus $10 per workshop and $20 per class.

Quail Country Quilters
The Quail Country Quilters will be meeting Thursday, June 22 at the VFW Post, 705 E. Elm St, in Cottonwood. This is the last meeting this month with a break in July.
There will be a Community Sew with kits the Scrap Rats have put together. Bring your sewing machines to sew or help with pressing and a little cutting.
Visitors are always welcome.Remember no meetings in July but we will see you the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in August. Also there won't be any Scrap Rats meetings in July.
They will resume in August on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at Quilters Quarters.
Horse Care Volunteers Needed
Connections Equine Therapy located in Cornville is looking for volunteers to help with horse care. Connections Equine Therapy offers Therapeutic Riding and other services designed to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals facing a wide range of challenges.
Duties include feeding, grooming, and cleaning pasture and barn areas.
This is your opportunity to get involved with a great group of people, get to know some wonderful horses and help a worth-while cause.
No experience necessary - training provided.

Must be physically fit

Take Charge of Your Life workshop
Silence means approval. If someone is putting you down, criticizing you or in any way making you feel uncomfortable, by not replying to their statement, you are agreeing that they are right and what they said is correct. To change this situation Communication Matterz will present "Take Charge of Your Life -- Now," a workshop, on Saturday in the Healing Arts Center, 753 N. Main St., Cottonwood, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Crystal Lattice to host book signing for author
From 10 a.m. to noon, Crystal Lattice will host a book-signing event with Camp Verde author Melissa Bowersock. Bowersock will be signing copies of Fleischerhaus, her 13th book. Fleischerhaus is a story about a newly divorced woman who attempts to uncover the mysteries of her past life and find justice for the person she used to be. On July 2 at 8:30 a.m., Bowersock will talk about Fleischerhaus you can learn more about Fleischerhaus when she appears on The Morning Scramble (Prescott AZTV Channel 7). Bowersock is an eclectic, award-winning author who writes in a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres.
Bingo in Camp Verde on Tuedays
Play Bingo every Tuesday evening at The American Legion Post 93, 286 S. 3rd St in Camp Verde. Bingo starts at 6:45 p.m. with 2-3 short 50/50 Money Tree games and our regular Bingo session starts at 7 p.m. and is Open to the Public.
There are seven special games and 10 regular games with pay-outs based on attendance. Game 10 progressive blackout starts at $200 on 50 numbers or less and increases each week by $10 adding one number if no one wins, including a special "Double Action" game with percentage payout of 75/25 after intermission before game 11.

Clark Memorial Library Fourth of July Ice Cream Social
Volunteers from the Clark Memorial Library Advisory Board are gearing up to serve ice cream, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, pie and more at the annual Ice Cream Social during the Clarkdale Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration in the Clarkdale Park. This event is one of the main fundraisers for the Library and all proceeds directly benefit the Clark Memorial Library.
Donated baked goods are appreciated, please drop off items at the Ice Cream Social booth anytime between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. on July 4.
All donors will receive a coupon for a free used book from the "Books Deals and Steals" section in the Library.

The Verde Valley Pow Wow returns with two days of Native American events and competitions at Jackpot Ranch in Camp Verde. Grand entries are at noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday and at noon on Sunday.
Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. Competitions include adult, teen and youth categories plus drumming.

Brandon, Metlay explain 'Creative Process'
On Monday afternoons, noted composer Sy Brandon and lifelong poet Ann Metlay team up to present "The Creative Process," an Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) class to explore the steps of the creative process that any creative person goes through in creating work, be it a poem, a novel, a song, a band suite, a sculpture, etc. In this class, beginning with inspiration and concluding with final proofing and editing, each of the seven weeks will be devoted to one of the stages one passes through as their piece takes shape.
