Chili Dinner during community campout

April 18

Stop by the Camp Verde Community Center Kitchen between 5 and 6 p.m. on Friday to enjoy a hot bowl of chili, a side of tortilla chips or cornbread and a beverage for $5.50. Camp Verde Community Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is cooking and selling the meal during the Parent/Child Campout.

TAB will supply chili with toppings, your choice of chips or cornbread, and a cold beverage. You just need to bring an appetite and $5.50 per meal. Dedication of new Synagogue sign

April 18

Join the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley for Erev Shabbat services on Friday at 6:30 p.m. led by Rabbi Alicia Magal. Everyone present will first walk from the synagogue building to the new sign along State Route 179 for a short dedication ceremony. Afterward, congregants and guests will return to the sanctuary for a joyous Shabbat service, which includes traditional prayers, songs, Torah reading, and blessings for healing. This is also the monthly Simcha Shabbat when all those celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or other Simcha - happy occasion - receive a special blessing. The flowers, decorations, and kosher for Passover Oneg refreshments are sponsored by Clare and Milt Small.

Recognition for Yavapai College students

April 22

An Evening of Recognition event for Yavapai College students on the Verde Valley and Sedona campuses is scheduled for Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. on the Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale, Room M-137.

The college will students from for outstanding achievements in individual academic programs, national competitions and campus activities.



Shakespearean Birthday Party at the library

April 23

Join us Wednesday at the Camp Verde Community Library at 11 a.m. for Shakespeare's 450th birthday party. Library volunteer Von Hatch (a man of many talents), will present a dramatic reading from Henry IV Part 2, an experience not to be missed.

Sit back and see how much you enjoy hearing Shakespeare's words imbued with meaning you miss when reading it silently to yourself.

Gosar office hours in Cottonwood

April 23

The staff of U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) will hold office hours in Cottonwood, Arizona on Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. Rep. Gosar will not be in attendance. This event is a chance for members of the public to receive assistance from Rep. Gosar's staff with federal agencies, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Social Security Administration, the Small Business Administration and the Internal Revenue Service. It is also a chance for members of the public to communicate any concerns they have about federal and state topics to Rep. Gosar's staff.

Casino hosts Lowrider Motorcycle Show and Concert

April 26

Cliff Castle Casino Hotel presents Arizona's first Lowrider Style Bagger and Custom Motorcycle Show and concert on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The show will feature custom bikes from all over the Southwest competing for a share of $7,000 in cash and prizes. There will be food available as well as a Beer Garden.

At the Stargazer Pavilion, catch live music from The Dazz Band, Ray Carrion and The Latin All Stars, Sunny Ozuna, Willie G and a special performance by event host MC Magic. Motorcycle Show/Concert Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for youths. Kids 12 & under get free admission. Spheeris in concert

During the" Finding the Gift In Shift" Retreat Weekend, Sedona's renowned Chris Spheeris will join best-selling author Gregg Braden and award-winning artist Martha Reich Braden in a soul stirring concert, Music for the Heart and Soul. Together, they will provide an evening for full immersion into inspirational, moving, heart healing music.

Elder abuse presentation at Cottonwood Village

Buena Vista Children's Services, Inc. helps people become a certified child-care provider, assisting with everything from the required fingerprints to home inspections.

Applications are processed at no charge. Becoming a "Professional Certified Child Care Provider" allows individuals to work in their own home, caring for as many as four children, plus two of their own.

Not only do providers get compensated for their nurturing and caring services, but also their names are listed with Child Care Resource & Referral and other local Arizona DES offices for referrals.

Donate western ware to Cottonwood Roadrunners

Do you have any western ware that you don't wear anymore?

If you do, the Cottonwood Roadrunners Square Dance Club would be happy to take your western ware as a donation. This is are a nonprofit organization and needs your donation for a fund-raiser they will be holding at Cottonwood Civic Center. Square dancing is a wonderful past time and we need your donations to keep the club going.
