A Return to Camelot
Rainbow Acres Fine Arts Series 2012 presents “A Return to Camelot. The evening of music features Linda and Darrell Rowader, with David Knight and Peter Bower, accompanied by Barbara Knight on piano and Pam Bower on harp.
The event is at 2 p.m. in the Palmer Community Center at Rainbow Acres, 2120 W. Reservation Loop Road, Camp Verde. Refreshments will follow.

Faux Painting Workshops

Sedona Parks and Recreation is hosting Faux Painting Workshops from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Locations change so please reference the website www.sedonaaz.gov. During these hands-on classes, instructor Linda Coffman will guide you through the beginning skills that will allow you to create your own mouth-dropping painted walls.

Sedona P&R Commission Openings
There are two positions available on the Sedona Parks and Recreation Commission. One opening is for a three-year term commencing from time of appointment through Dec. 31, 2014; the second opening is for a two-year term commencing from the time of appointment through Dec. 31, 2013. Here is a chance to make a real difference in your community, help design the future of our parks and recreation programs, take an active part in your City government, meet new people, have fun, and have a positive influence on the future of Sedona. Join Camp Verde Run Club
Would you like to be a part of a group newly forming to promote a healthy lifestyle by getting out and routinely walking or jogging with family and friends?
An informal meeting will be held on Saturday at the Camp Verde Community Church (former Methodist Church), 480 First St. The meeting will take place in the fellowship hall at 10:30 a.m. Anyone interested is invited to attend to find out more about the Camp Verde Run Club and at this time you will receive training tips, nutritional information, and selected areas in and around Camp Verde ideal for training.
The Mission of CVRC, along with encouraging physical fitness by walking or jogging and in conjunction with good eating habits, is to explore how exercise has been proven to increase a person’s quality of life and to add years to their lives.
In addition to getting and staying in shape, the CVRC is dedicated to supporting worthwhile causes. We encourage every CVRC team member to train and walk/run in support of a charitable organization.

Watercolor Society meeting features professional critique session
NAWS (Northern Arizona Watercolor Society) meets at 9 a.m., with the professional critique by Betty Carr & Jan Sitts, local professional artists. This is always both and entertaining and instructive program. Members are invited to bring one painting per person, with a limit of 20 paintings to be critiqued. Paintings should be unframed, and ready for viewing. Following a short business meeting, the Camp Verde and professional artists critique groups will display their paintings. As always, refreshments will be served.
Monthly meetings are usually on the fourth Friday of each month, at the Sedona United Methodist Church, located at 110 Indian Cliffs Road, just off State Route 179 in the Chapel area. Artists and Guests of all skill levels are welcome to attend. Visit www.NAWS-AZ.org.
Grasshopper Basketball registration extended
Camp Verde Parks & Recreation has extended registration for fifth-eighth grade Grasshopper Basketball. Cost is $40 for the first child and $35 for each additional child. They are also looking for parents who would be interested in coaching. For more information call (928) 567-0535.
Jerome Elks Lodge Sweetheart Dinner Dance
Jerome Elks Lodge, located at 100 S. Broadway in Clarkdale will host their annual Sweetheart Dinner Dance.
The Lounge will open at 5 p.m., a pork loin dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and dancing to Jox in the Box will follow dinner.

Tickets will be $15 at the door on the night if the event.
There will be lithographic artwork by popular area artist Luis Romero for raffles. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the Arizona Major Projects.
Author Cynthia Reay Book Signing Event
Cynthia Reay, a resident of Wikieup, will be available to sign copies of her fiction novel, “He Remembers,” 1-3 p.m. at Jerona Java Café & Gifts, 677 E. Mingus Ave., Cottonwood.

Book Signing at Cottonwood Public Library
Local author Tonia Morecraft will be on hand Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cottonwood Public Library for a book signing.
The library is located at 100 S Sixth St. in Cottonwood.
Morecraft will speak of her new book “Dragons’ Plight” in the Youth Services Program Room with a book signing following. Published in August 2011, “Dragons’ Plight” follows Marta, a dragon rider, in her quest to save the dragons and catch the dragon hunters.
Tonia Morecraft is actually a native of Phoenix and lives in Cottonwood with her husband and four children.
Camp Verde Library Book Sale
The Camp Verde Library Endowment Book Sale is the first Thursday of each month (except July), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The book sale is located in the tan building next to the library on Montezuma Castle Highway.
They have a building full of books all priced from 50 cents and up, on shelves and sorted by subject.
They have fiction, non-fiction, children’s, some audios and videos and some puzzles. All proceeds benefit the Camp Verde Library.
Dr. Brenda Howland to discuss allergies
The Happy Huggers, Women’s Cancer Support Group, invites all women interested in learning more about allergies to hear Dr. Brenda Howland, internist, speak on the subject.
She will talk about possible causes, effects, how to treat and live with many common allergies.
The group meets at 3 p.m. at Pine Shadows Club House, 2050 W. 89A, Cottonwood.
