CAMP VERDE - Before she moved to Arizona in 2002, Diane Martin owned a window cleaning business near Cleveland.

After working in the retail business in Sedona, Martin decided it was again time to be her own boss.

She considered opening a crystal shop similar to many businesses in Sedona. But Martin decided that a shop like that might not succeed in Camp Verde.

With the help of her husband Robert, Martin recently opened Crystal Lattice across from Wingfield Plaza. Martin says that Crystal Lattice is a place to buy nice giftware at affordable prices - and good chocolates, too.

Besides chocolates, both in boxes and individually wrapped, Crystal Lattice offers its customers a myriad of Himalayan salt lamps and candleholders, American-made soy candles, trendy jewelry, a collection of feng shui, scarves, hats, masks, nouveau light switch covers and snacks for the few remaining non-chocoholics.

"Individual chocolates start at 50 cents," Martin says. "A few days ago, a lady came in and bought two pieces of chocolate. She felt good, and I felt good. You can come in with a little bit of money and get something."

Martin is also planning to offer GeoCentral novelties, such as excavating kits and other educational items for children.

And Martin is looking to sell incense matches.

"If you want a nice gift or want a good snack, I want you to come here," Martin says. In the next few years, I hope that we are the go-to place in Camp Verde."

Martin also says she hopes to do well enough to eventually need a larger space for her business.

"I would like to fill a want," Martin says. "Then, everybody's happy."

Crystal Lattice is located at 567 S. Main St., unit D in Camp Verde. For more information, call (928) 567-1212 or email: info@crystalattice.com.
