COTTONWOOD - Chef Ezra Gutierrez, his wife, Maria, and his father, Ron have opened the Cottonwood Fired Café at 3900 E. Western Dr.

They will soon be joined by sous chef Justin Crank from Utah.

The restaurant specializes in wood-fired Italian pizza. A pizza special is offered every day for lunch through dinner.

“We are the first wood-fired Italian pizza oven in Cottonwood specializing in homemade comfort food, house ground burgers and sausage,” Ezra said. “We make our own dough and our own desserts,” he said. “We’re also going to offer gluten-free pizza, and we have vegan options.”

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday at 7 a.m.

“We’re here for breakfast, lunch an dinner,” Ezra said. “We have patio dining. “We do a waffle of the day in the mornings.”

He said the restaurant has an $8 pizza special every day.

Ezra hopes to serve a large geographical area.

“We hope to reach as far as possible our unique twist on an old cooking technique, along with scratch-made regional comfort food,” Ezra said. “This gives our customers the opportunity to enjoy five-star food in a neighborhood atmosphere at an affordable price. We want to give people great value for their dollar.”

Very good food and reasonable as well! The interior reminds me of a very small version of applebees. Since all profits stay here it makes it so much better. Check it out you won't be disappointed!

A local pizza place told us we did not know how to order pizza after constantly messing up our order. We stopped using them and now they are out of business.

It is really nice to be treated like they want your patronage, never had anyone take such good care of us. Oh and the food is fabulous too!

We could not wait till they opened. We really loved the Greek restaurant until someone plowed into it. It was so convenient and they delivered.

But this place ------ way better. We wish them every success.

Support your local Mom & Pop restaurants, they help our communities ------ all profits stay here instead of corporate headquarters somewhere else!

This place is awesome . . . had a cuban sandwich with pasta salad one afternoon . . . it was to DIE for!

Needed a quick dinner one night tried three of their pizzas . . . we will be eating here regularly!

And the lemon marscapone . . .

Best of luck to you, not that you need it, your food speaks for itself!
