Old Town Mission has packed up its wares and moved them to the old Everygreen Electric location at the corner of Mingus and Airport Road.
Old Town Mission is on the move.
For the past two weeks, Old Town Mission has been relocating operations to the old Evergreen Electric and Vineyard Church buildings on 89A and the corner of Mingus/Airport Road across from the Maverick gas station in Cottonwood.
“We moved our warehousing facilities which include St. Mary’s Food Bank distribution, our administrative offices, and donation processing for the Mission Thrift Store, to our new location” says Lisa Taylor, Operations Director. “In the next two weeks we are busily setting up and stocking the new store for the opening on Oct. 1. We’re very excited about this move, it was an opportunity for us to consolidate our operations to one location which will allow us to operate more efficiently and effectively.”
The Grand Opening of the thrift store at the new location is scheduled for Oct. 12-13 and will include free hot-dogs, door prizes, balloons for the kids, drawings for store discounts, and free entertainment.
Donations of goods will also be accepted at the 89A and Mingus locations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To schedule a pick-up of larger items, please call (928) 634-1644. Hours of operation at the new thrift store will be Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
All donations and proceeds from the store are used to support Mission services of hot lunches, food boxes, a senior nutrition program, free clothing and bedding, sleeping bags, hot showers, haircuts, backpack distribution, free vision clinic, free legal clinic, turkey give-a-way, toys for children at Christmas, and emergency needs.
If you are in need of services, please contact the Mission at (928) 634-7869.
