This doctor does only house calls … for animals

Philip Wright
Staff Reporter

Dr. Monica Ellis, veterinarian, doesn’t mind making house calls. In fact, that is what she prefers, to bring her specially built veterinary truck clinic to the place where her patients live.

The name of her veterinary practice is Verde Valley Roaming Veterinary Services.

Dr. Ellis said this type of veterinary service does not exist in the Verde Valley, but there are a lot of people living outside of town, many who are retired, and many who have multiple pets.

“It makes sense to bring veterinary care to them,” she stated.

Dr. Ellis has worked at stationary veterinary practices in Chino Valley and in the Verde Valley. She and her husband, Scott, own the business. Dr. Ellis provides the veterinary care, and Scott takes care of the business manager’s duties.

The traveling veterinary clinic also employs a knowledgeable veterinary technician to assist with providing care.

Dr. Ellis said that as a mobile veterinary practice she will serve the entire Verde Valley, including Sedona, VOC, Rimrock, Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cornville and everywhere in between.

“Our mobile veterinary service is one of a kind for the Verde Valley,” Dr. Ellis said. “We have a state-of-the-art truck that allows us to provide most of the same services you could find at a stationary clinic. We provide these services in the comfort of your home.”

The Roaming Veterinary clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The clinic is closed on Wednesday.
