Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition celebrates a year of accomplishments

SEDONA – In 2011, Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition served 1,542 individuals with 275 volunteers providing rides to medical appointments, assistance with grocery shopping and other errands, in-home visitation, friendly phoning, business help, handy person assistance and installation of the Guardian Angel personal security alert system. Volunteers provided over 7,000 services to adults in need without charge in 2011.

Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition will hold its annual meeting of the Board of Directors on Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. at Verde Valley Medical Center in conference room A. The meeting will include a celebration of the organization’s accomplishments in 2011 and its major goals for 2012.

Five new members of the Board of Directors joined in 2011, including Jennifer Brewer, BSN, of Verde Valley Medical Center; Gail Guntermann, Ph.D., retired ASU professor; Loretta Wellborn, RN, Director of Northern Arizona Homecare; Eric Meyers of National Processing Solutions; and Joanne Marco, retired marketing professional. New to the Board in January is Charles J. Marr who is the retired CEO of a multifaceted healthcare system in the Midwest.

New on staff in 2011 is Roger Wyer who serves in the position of volunteer coordinator and new at VVCC’s thrift shop, Silver Linings, is Kali Baldwin, serving as the shop’s manager.

Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing supportive services to adults in need since 1993 throughout the Verde Valley and Sedona region.
