Letter: Go ahead, Obama, Jan says it is OK

Editor:

Pfew!

I see that Jan Brewer, taking a break from her exhausting duties as CEO of AZ, Inc. made a ‘surprise’ visit to Afghanistan.

Thankfully, the heretofore doubting-Thomas old war horse had this to say after her visit: “I feel very, very confident that they are doing what [commanders and service members] believe is right ... and they are doing it the right way.”

She described the entire experience “surreal” and said that its easy to “forget that everyone is carrying real guns and they are putting their lives on the line ... It’s the real deal.”

Imagine that, a ‘real’ war with ‘real’ guns.

Who’d a thought?

You can’t get anything past ole Jan, except maybe certifying elections in her home state.

Article comment by: MJ seems to miss their own point... .

the FREEDOM to vote for all those things... as incorrectly named as you have them.

the freedom for you to criticize as well...

and even sing your happy la la songs...

to your hearts content... and get upset when called out for being non-logical...

la la la... all the way... now go poke a guy in the eye...

or sit there and cry

oh me oh my...

HUMMMMMMM
I have seen this little bit of liberal bovine fecal matter more than a few times on here ....
"voting against ones own best interest" ......
The ONLY thing that is in anyones best interest is FREEDOM.
Not handouts.
Not "free" healthcare.
Not "free" phones.
Not "free" food stamps.
Not "free" SSI checks.
Not "free" subsidized housing.
All these "free" gubmint handouts are nothing more than slavery with a smile.

for Jan just to peeve the liberals... so voting against ones own best interest is trumped by 'stick a finger in the liberals eye'... pretty indicative of the issue it seems.

@ NUX

“Again, do your own research and learn.”

Actual research has proven your hyperbolic rant to be pure nonsense. Step away from those Right Wing Loon websites and you will discover a new clarity in thought.

This is for, well, just because YOU are You!

Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain

And the itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

You need to write a new "Founding Fathers" screed, Mr. Bond. This one has gone viral. I see exactly the same phraseology in comments to the New York Times, Forbes Magazine, The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc., etc.
It's shocking how many people have purloined your nonsense.

Usually I don't do reply's, but since The Verde is my backyard I feel compelled to.
In my "rant" I state that Barry has a false SS# - this is absolutely true, no "theory" involved. He never lived in Conn. but thats the origin of the # he uses. Do your own research and learn.
He's spent no less than 2.5mil fighting lawsuits to prevent his records being released, with another one about to start over in Cali. over his Occidental College records that prove he entered as a foreign aid student from Indonesia. Again, do your own research and learn.
Ms. Jane called me selfish & narcissistic for this, which is beyond absurd. I'm actually a local car mechanic who brings home $600 a week to provide for my disabled wife. My handle is NuxMan because I use a beat up old 'puter running Linux (free OS). I live simply and love every minute of it, leaving the rat race to the rats.
Thanks for the sugar though, I'll use it in my coffee this morning, (koolaid? really? leave the herd and think for yourselves - look into what I've said here if you're not afraid to see the truth).

@ Danny Smith:

You said,

"As far as your ideas of democratic principles are concerned if the founding fathers themselves could come back and try to explain the constitution, you still wouldn't understand it."

Comment:

The "founding father" by and large were slave-owning racists who engaged in the buying, selling, trading and trafficking in human beings.

They sold out the American Revolution by incorporating slavery into the US Constitution and codifying into law.

They created a government BY, OF, and FOR white, propertied [including their slaves] males. They retained all rights singularly and solely to themselves.

Only they could hold public office, serve on juries, enter into contracts and be appointed judges, and vote.

The "founding fathers" set up a very undemocratic nation and it was only by the determination of the common, ordinary people that any rights were every bestowed upon us.

I could care less what the founding fathers thought or what they would say about "constitutional government" since they so obviously did not genuinely believe in it.

Wow John that last one had me rolling on the floor laughing considering your posts have more narrow minded, hate filled pettiness than anyone else on here. I think in psychological terms you suffer from "Transference". As far as your ideas of democratic principles are concerned if the founding fathers themselves could come back and try to explain the constitution, you still wouldn't understand it.

Phil:

Although I know you are fully aware of it, "John Bond wannabe" is engaging in that tried and true effort [engaged in by many neoconservatives with lilliputian minds] to condemn you with "guilt by association" to me, and to shame you into either ceasing posting letters that refute and or conflict with their narrow-minded ideation.

The thought that two separate people come up with the same ideas based upon an adherence to democratic principles independent of each other is anathema to such people.

Interestingly, as they profess a belief in "rugged individualism" they spew out the collective ideation of the neoconservative movement without giving it nary a thought.

The petty-minded, mean-spiritedness of such people is self-evident and I am sure you recognize it for what it is, the whiny, whimpering of those upset that President Obama is still POTUS.

Oh, BTW, great letter.

@ Brian

The only thing I would praise Jan Brewer for would be when she says, "I no longer want to be a source of embarrassment for the state of Arizona, I quit."

And, maybe you have a good point about Jan: she probably spends too much time playing video games and cannot know the difference between make-believe and reality.

She certainly helps create and maintain the Arizona la-la land.
