Letter: Enough already with this birther nonsense

Certainly disappointed in the Verde Independent. Two news pages relating to AZ Secretary of State, Ken Bennett’s recent “presidential birther” folly is that many pages too much.

Barack Obama is Our President; the majority of American voters placed him in office. I believe he tries to do what he can for our country and us. Does he always do it right? Obviously not -- only office holders in the opposition party do that.

For three and one-half years, he has tried to get us through some quite difficult times. He deserves more of our support and none of the disrespect a man like Ken Bennett throws at him.

So, at this late date in a presidential term, I don’t care if he were born on Mars. It is too late for that ... and for all this birther nonsense.

Verde Voter...
The test question (I think) is: Was Mitt born of two
parents who were both US citizen at the time of
Mitt's birth?

(I don't know the answer to this question.)

I believe it to be one parent that is a USA citizen. So we now have a candidate running for president of the USA and his father was born in mexico. What shall we do? Is this a double standard?

John...thanks for the link.

And, Senator Obama and co-Senators distilled
the question of "natural born citizen" down to one
or two pages of a Senate Resolution.

Philip your right...the "natural born citizen" issue
has been unanswered for over four years.

Senator Obama and his co-Senators did put the
answer in writing in early 2008...They indicated
that a "natural born citizen" is one who was born
of parent who were both US citizens at the time
of one's birth. This writing was a Senate
Resolution and John McCain was the subject
of the writing.

Thanks and Good Luck,
