Appreciation letter to Golden Bone and volunteers
Everyone recognizes, or should, that women are the ultimate nurturers of the human race. How awesome a responsibility! A recent experience of my wife's and mine made me cognizant that some of them have taken nurturing to another level.
One of our beloved dogs died a few weeks ago, causing us to become more aware that our other two, as well as our own selves, were becoming older. Wishing to insert some youth into our lives once again, we came in touch with "Golden Bone" Rescue and Rehab of Abused Animals.
We entered into a world that most people are not aware exists: Caring volunteers that are constantly and continuously seeking 'forever' homes for as many needy animals as possible, freeing them from the clutches of the eventuality of euthanasia.
Heartfelt thanks to Nadia, Angela and Hercules, co-founders of Golden Bone; and the unsung volunteer 'fosters' that provide a temporary, loving environment until final adoption. In our case, namely, Shannon, Gail, Leslie, Karen and Dr. Lana Holcomb of Montezuma Health Services, who set the stage for the adoption of our little 'forever' girl, "Dorothy" that has renewed our lives once again!
So if you should have an extra buck or two or a little time to spare, consider donating it to an animal rescue operation. This will assure the continuous spreading of kindness and unconditional love that only animals can provide! Not only will you be saving a loving creature from destruction, but you may also be providing a bit of happiness to someone who otherwise would have had none!
In a unique rural area such as our own, we are all dependent upon each other one way or another, aren't we?
