7/9/2013 2:23:00 PM Letter- American Legion Post 135 gives thanks
American Legion Post 135 in Cornville sends out a big THANK YOU to the community for supporting their recent fundraiser with the proceeds earmarked for a post home and several reoccurring annual programs. The fundraiser was a huge success due equally to the great "give away" items, and to all the fine folks who purchased the tickets. Consisting of many everyday items and services that were generously donated by local merchants the post netted just over $1,000 from the raffle.
The total value of the items was approximately $1,000 and was divided into two separate drawings. The lucky winners were: Camp Verde resident, Gordon Kelsey and Cottonwood resident, Millie Derosia.
Each drawing was held prior to the annual 4th of July Cottonwood annual fireworks with the tickets drawn by Cottonwood resident, Sgt. Jordan Maynard.
Some of the generous contributors include: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Reese Tires, Black Canyon Trading Post, Fandangle's, Larry Green Chevrolet, Stan's Pest Control, Javelina Leap, Verde Santa Fee Golf Course and the Verde Independent.
Thanks also go to Camp Verde donators: Cliff Castle Casino, Copper Star Indoor Shooting Range, Dominoes, Crusty's, Hairbenders, and Ace Hardware, plus appreciations to numerous post members for donations and ticket sales.
