Letter: Mainstream media a family affair

Editor:

Scott Pelly, CBS News anchor, recently opined: “Democracies succeed or fail based on their journalism, America is strong because its journalism is strong. That’s how democracies work. They’re only as good as the quality of the information that the public possesses. And that is where we come in.”

But how can we expect “strong” journalism when our mainstream news sources are merely mouthpieces for our government? The connections these days are not just ideological, they’re familial.

ABC News President Ben Sherwood’s sister, Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, is the Special Assistant to Barack Obama.

CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Hillary Clinton’s deputy, Tom Nides.

CBS News President David Rhodes’s brother, Ben, is Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communication and was a key player in revising the White House’s Benghazi talking points last September.

Is mainstream media telling us only what we’re supposed to know?

David Perrell

To c glisson:
Yes. I, too, could care a great deal less about media malfeasance. An editorialist's misspelling his source should not be taken lightly, either. Although I'm not sure what a wandering "e" implies.

To Mainstream Media and CIA Dirty Work:
Your message might be clearer if there weren't so many theres there.

Awww...Isn't that special! The fringe elements of the Demorat party are calling the Tea Party colorful names and even snidely claim, from a position of blissful ignorance, that anyone who doesn't agree with their racist rants and fascist slants is somehow uninformed or insane.

Yes Mary Jane, simple minded and childish definitely describes your uninformed partisan diatribe.

You and your political ilk think having your own propaganda channels harping away at nonsensical issues somehow might make your political party relevant but sadly for you, it isn't so!

The damage you do to your credibility with such inane, even insane, drivel is immeasurable. It is enough to make one wonder if the leftest really understand how dreadful they sound to any educated citizens reading their blogs. Preaching to bigots and idiots in your choir won't get you the votes you seek, but please don't let that stop you!!!

Benghazi was a CIA front operation, it was NOT a legal consolate. It was attached by a military operation with in that country to set free prisenors that were being held there by the CIA illegally. Get a clue people if some of our citizens were being held against there will in a embassy somwhere you can bet we would sent in seal team 6 to get them out. They were doing the same thing protectiong there people on there sovern soil.

Todays Mainstream Media Giants are so politically bias itís sickening. Remember back to Watergate when not a single day passed without them ripping Nixon apart? This went on daily until he resigned and they didnít stop there, they continued until all involved were busted. Now we have Benghazi, unlike Watergate 4 people are dead and the same Mainstream Media report the bare minimum keeping everything as quiet as possible. Hmm, I wonder why? Then when FOX News reports anything making this POTUS (Piece Of Totally Useless S***) look bad all the liberal democratís come out of the woodwork like cockroaches crying foul, using the race card or any other means (Lies) to protect there queen. Isnít it funny when the shoes on the other foot? I guess this is what they call ďstrongĒ journalism?

Well how about that. David Peerrell makes a statement and ends asking a question. What do we get? Childish name calling, snide remarks. Just about what we should expect from people who are not informed.
Now I await my simple minded name calling, but I could care less. I never pick fights with uninformed or insane. Its a waste of my time.

The other mainstream source known as Fox News employs a plethora of has been politicians (Palin, Rove, Gingritchetc... and so on).

Then we have Roger Ailes and the owner Rupert M.

Next is the talk radio crew- Insanity (Hannity) etc... used to be Beck until he got to wacky for even that channel!, then you get to the fine nasal tone of the ones like Mark Levin.

Rather than attack the source folks would do well to do their own research rather than rely on that of others... the times have changed and so will the ways we source our info.
