Letter: We have a Supreme Court, Sen. Crandell

Editor:

Chester Crandall, our recently elected state senator, seemed a little stung by late night comics ridiculing his proposal to allow citizens to “allow the people of Arizona to reject a federal action if they determine it violates the United States Constitution.”

Perhaps Mr. Crandall is not up on this, but we already have a body that determines if an action is constitutional or not; it is called the United States Supreme Court. He wants to replace the court with any citizen who doesn’t like what the federal government does. This legislation is from the same person who wanted to take over all the federal land in Yavapai County and open it for commercial purposes. Mr. Crandall is not IN the right; he’s ON the (extreme) right.

The tragedy of all this is if everyone attended the Beaver Creek legislative and County Commissioner debate last fall you would have heard the adult in the room, Tom Chabin, give a reasoned, lucid, and forward thinking vision of what our county and state could look like. The problem seems to be most people vote for the letter behind the name, not for the person. And this is what you got.

we have a federal government that cares less about states rights as spilled out in the 10th amendment Being getting a judge ship on the Supreme Court means the federal Government says who does and who doesn't get on how much you think states rights mean to them?

Good job Senator for having the guts to stand up to this Marxist President
