4/8/2014 2:27:00 PM Editorial: Make a difference: Today is Arizona Gives Day
Anyone who has ever served on a non-profit board of directors will tell you the lifeblood of their organization is the often-times mind-boggling generosity of the people who provide their financial support.
Some people give a modest monthly contribution that at the end of the year adds up to something that is anything but modest. Some people - a surprisingly high number of whom request anonymity - think nothing of dropping single five-figure donations to the non-profits near and dear to their hears.
It happens every day.
Today, however, is Arizona Gives Day, a statewide, 24-hour, online giving campaign. More importantly, it is a way for people to find, learn about, and contribute to causes they believe in. Arizona Gives Day provides nonprofits with a way to share their story and engage the community through a unique online giving platform.
Earlier this year, Arizona nonprofits completed a sign-up process that enabled their participation in the Arizona Gives Day program. The statewide directory allows you to direct your giving both locally and to organizations throughout Arizona.
Here is how you do it: Log-on to azgives.org on April 9, to support the causes you care about. Materials or services are always appreciated and will be recognized commensurately with cash sponsors.
