Communities must constantly deal with differences
One of the most important aspects of a civilized society is how it deals with differences of opinion among its members. There are some things we can all agree upon; e.g. two plus two equals four or the earth revolves around the sun (but even here, there was a time in history when people were being burned at the stake for professing the latter).

New school year off and running at Big Park School
Another school year has started and it seems as if things are going smoothly for the most part. The week before school starts and the first week of school are always a busy time of year for the school personnel, especially this year after the cuts to our budget last spring.

Canyon Moon Theatre to host world premier of Marrano Justice
Benjamin Cardozo, was an extraordinary Hispanic/Jewish judge, whose tenure on the Supreme Court still influences the laws we live by today. And yet, his story is unknown to most of the people who benefit from his work. Marrano Justice presents a riveting vision of the tensions and difficulties of race, freedom, love and dignity - framed by flashbacks and hauntingly beautiful Ladino music. Cardozo's story echoes many of the themes at play in our country today.
