Council bans mall U-Haul business parking
It was one of those days when, as the meeting room filled, one could feel the tension in the air. The business at hand was bringing out those neighbors who were girding for battle, and it didn't take long before the issue was on the table at the Feb. 12 meeting of the Big Park Regional Coordinating Council.

Busy spring for Sedona Village Business Assn.
It is way too early to get confident but if February was any indicator of what spring 2015 is going to be like, I have a lot more preparing to do. Warm temps, a flurry of events and a brutal winter back east seem to be boding well for a busier than normal spring (and yes I'm knocking on wood as I write this).

Every day a lucky day at library
The month of March conjures up images of good luck: four-leaf clovers, leprechauns, rainbows, and lucky charms. As I was thinking about this article, I considered why people feel lucky when they visit the library. Here are just a few reasons to appreciate your library.

Meet the ladies of the Oakcreek Niners
Every Thursday morning a group of women who don't take themselves or their game too seriously--but who do like to have fun--meet to play golf. It's a friendly group of newcomers and old-timers (in terms of residence only) who enjoy the sunshine, the company, and the beautiful golf course at the Oakcreek Country Club.

Creating gardens of spirit through beauty - the work of Adele Seronde
Gardens for Humanity founder Adele Seronde lives and works in her studio at the foot of Lee Mountain in Pine Valley at the end of Jacks Canyon Road. For 30 years she has awoken to sunlight on the brave sentinels of red rock spires, and like the spires she has been a sentinel in our community for works of beauty and hope.

HP Trifecta completed: breakfast, lunch and dinner over a six-month period
HP, the hip name for The Hitching Post, located at 269 N. SR 89A, is an Uptown restaurant we highly recommend.

We first went there upon noticing an ad in Kudos. We'd never heard of HP. Then we learned that HP was the long standing Hitching Post Restaurant. We'd never eaten there.

Our first trip was an August noontime affair, just right for HP's side patio, located along the shopping alley between Jordan Road and 89A. You might think it would be noisy, but the crowd noise and view was covered by the soothing sound of the permanent waterfall. Ceiling fans kept us comfortable.

Understanding joint health in animals
Another month flew by and the topic I had started was changed this morning as I attended my usual continuing education conference in Orlando. The session early in the morning was how to manage early, middle and late stages of osteoarthritis (OA) in dogs and cats. Since I was taken by surprise by some of the things reviewed I thought everyone could benefit from what I heard and learned.

An alert for people who use CDs for their IRAs
Do you like to shop around online for the best CD rates? Do you have a habit of moving certificates of deposit from bank to bank in pursuit of better yields? If you do, you should be aware of an obscure but important IRS decision, one that could directly impact any IRA CDs you own.

Pay attention to the new, tighter restrictions on 60-day IRA rollovers.
