Vice President Big Park Regional Council

Following the December regular beeting of the Big Park Regional Coordinating Council, there was an election of officers for the New Year.

Steve Nelson was elected President and Dana Blavat was elected Vice President.

Deb Wilson is now the new Secretary, while Neil Pope remains as Treasurer for 2014

It is important that Ken Rouse be recognized for his leadership during 2013. In addition to leading the Council during their regular monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month and the executive meetings on the Monday prior to the Council meeting, he inspired fund raisers for many worthy causes through what was called "Acts of Kindness," Big Park School Back Pack Program, Yavapai Food Council, Walk for Alzheimers, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters all benefited from these fund raisers.

Ken helped by inviting Big Park School and Verde Valley School to become a part of the Council. When APS was introducing the new "Smart Meters," Ken invited those who were both "for" and those "against" to speak to the Council. Ken Rouse, we thank you for your energetic leadership.

The Council welcomes Steve Nelson, who spent 34 years in management with Bank America and its affiliates.

He has lived in the Village for the past 10 years and has been active with VOCA, serving as President for three years and Architectural Chairman for two years.

Dana Blavat is the office manager for Verde Valley School and has been active with the Big Park Council, serving as Chairman of the Recreation Committee.

The Big Park Regional Coordinating Council is an all volunteer council represented by 24 Home Owner Associations a two Business and Lodging associations and two schools.

The Council welcomes the new representatives who will be joining the Council in 2014.
