Special to The Villager

The Sedona Village Business Association is back! It is my pleasure to be the new president and I look forward to bringing you my business perspective working and living in this wonderful community that we call home.

For the first go round I thought I would introduce myself and explain how I came to be a part of the Village business community.

Firstly, I have the honor of being a Northern Arizona native having been born and raised in Flagstaff.

In high school I met a beautiful girl who is now my wife and business partner. We attended NAU together and moved to Aspen, Colo., shortly thereafter.

In the fall of 2007 my parents relocated to Cornville. When the Chevron station in the Village was up for rent we jumped at the opportunity to live in Sedona and be close to family. I have come to understand that we are such a welcoming community because we all make a conscious decision to live and work here.

The cost of living is expensive by big city standards, but the quality of life here is worth the extra expense. In May of 2011 we brought a son into the community.

Becoming a father has helped me get a broader perspective on hard work, community, and progress. When I became president of the SVBA I realized the Village business community can also thrive on the same principles.

For this reason I am dedicated to expanding and enhancing the membership base, creating an avenue for progress, and providing businesses in the Village with a greater opportunity to compete and thrive in the greater Sedona area.

If you own a business in the Village I highly encourage you to join today! SVBA is already in progress in the form of networking, organizing resources, marketing, and much more.

If you are a resident I encourage you to tell your friends and family who own a business in the Village to join.

I look forward to our future here in the Village and the opportunity I have to serve both the business and community at large. I invite you to please check out our new website at, and also take a moment to like us on Facebook!

How about turning down the Chevron beacon of lights in the middle of our village and join dark skies with the rest of us.

Didn't we just go through all this a couple years ago ?

Are we looking to revive 'Sedona Village" again?
Good luck
