It takes real courage and confidence to buck the sad history of failed retail stores that have tried to find success at our community's attractive, yet mostly empty, Tequa Plaza.

A brave Big Park entrepreneur by the name of Jeanne Wilson has stepped up to meet the challenge, however ... against the advice of many, she admits.

Jeanne is fiercely determined that the character of her new clothing store and it's chic and comfortable ware will be a perfect fit (so to speak) with the anticipated revitalization of the Village's handsome gateway restaurant and shopping complex.

She believes that the timing now is right. The economy is better; an important change of Tequa's ownership has made a big difference in determining its potential; and more visitors than ever are coming to our internationally renowned Red Rock Country along our All-American Road...hopefully to her doorstep!

So, what will make shoppers stop? What is unique about this smart little boutique called Bilby & Moss?

Several things set Jeanne's venture apart. Her mission, first of all, is nothing but honorable and remarkably considered. She proudly describes her Bilby & Moss (B&M) clothing line's use of the soft "micro-modal" eco-fiber (a sustainable, biodegradable premium fabric made from beech trees, I'm told)!

In addition, she is strongly committed to having every B&M product made only in America. All her suppliers adhere to Fair Labor law practices and have good working environments for their employees.

Found within the inviting Bilby and Moss (B&M) shop is a clothing line of fashionably eco-friendly, easy-to-wear and travel-worthy cottons and denims...appealing to the working professional or stylish retiree who wants beautiful lightweight clothing that doubles for casual evening/every day wear.  With the traveler in mind, these garments are light-weight and extremely packable.

Colors are predominantly neutral and sizing ranges from small to extra large. Other items in the product line are favorites of the looking-good-at-yoga ladies.

Fine leather goods, handcrafted one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories that appeal to all ages complete the shop's collection. A personal favorite is the array of stunning tie-belts made from pieced kimono fabrics.

Jeanne has been a Villager since 1999, putting her business skills to use as CEO/President of an electronics hardware sales organization with success in the "high tech" world spanning over 25 years.

Her passion, however, is and has been fashion. Going to college for a degree in fashion and modeling, she is now realizing her love for the fashion industry at the helm of Bilby & Moss, which she recently purchased, and in addition to the boutique, plans to take on-line with her technical and social-media expertise.

So, why did smart, savvy Jeanne Wilson really choose Tequa as the risky location of her new store? "Because this is my home, my town and I love Tequa and have loved it's aesthetics from the beginning...and now I want to be there as part of its resurgence!" Good for you, Jeanne...we're rooting for you...and I'm sure your Big Park/Village neighbors are thanking you and rooting for Tequa too!

Bilby & Moss is located between Miley's Café and Cucina Rustica in the Tequa Plazz.
