Women of all ages who like to sing are invited to Red RockAppella’s Open House Guest Night on Monday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the VOCA Clubhouse, 690 Bell Rock Blvd.
Red RockAppella is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, a large, nonprofit music education organization for women. Any woman of average singing ability, with or without vocal training, will find a part that fits her voice range. Musical knowledge is not necessary to join—voice development and coaching are valuable member benefits!
Singing, performing, and music education are only a portion of the rewarding advantages that Red RockAppella members enjoy. They also experience genuine friendships, increased self-confidence, renewed vitality, and the invaluable, unwavering motivation and inspiration of others.
In addition to promoting harmony and friendship among women, Red RockAppella performs regularly throughout the community, offering its talent for entertainment at civic events and charitable functions. An annual show, local Fourth of July and Christmas performances, and a Holiday “singing card” event are some of the activities in which the chorus participates.
Come learn about Red RockAppella on Monday, May 13! Open House Guest Night begins at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7. Under the direction of Sandy Wingate, the chorus will perform a few songs and demonstrate how Barbershop harmony works. You’ll learn a song or song “tag” (pure Barbershop harmony!), meet some new friends, and have a wonderful time! Light refreshments will be served.
Red RockAppella meets every Monday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 at the VOCA Clubhouse for music, fellowship, and fun! Visitors are always welcome. For more information, call Jan at 284-9978 or Sandy at 451-2566 or visit the chorus’ website at www.redrockappella.org.
