The 2012 schedule is out, and special events are as follows; March 28 and April 4, The Masters; April 18, 25 and May 2; Men's Match play; July 25 and Aug. 1, Member-Member; Sept. 19 and 26 President’s Cup. Along the way we will have our usual weekly events, whose format varies from week to week.
Arron Oberholser, OCC General Manager Tony Rizzo’s brother in law he is married to Tony’s sister Angie, is planning a comeback on the PGA Tour.
Sidelined by injury the last couple of years, Arron is scheduled to play in the Phoenix Open (through Feb. 5), and then follow up the following week at Pebble Beach. Arron has been on the tour for about eight years, and in 2006 won the A T & T at Pebble Beach. That year he was also in the top 10 money winners on the tour.
Although many of us (not the writer) may aspire to play on the Tour, this may as close as us wannabees can get there, even though it is in our dreams. So we wish Arron the best of luck.
During January we also lost one of our most popular players when John Cress and his wife moved to Oregon to be nearer their family. A wonderful golfer and gentleman, we also know John as a member of the United State Winter Olympic Team in 1960 when he was very accomplished in the Combined Nordic competition.
On Wednesday, Jan. 11, the Club grew by one member with the birth of Grayson David Schindler, third child (and second son) of our head pro, Chris Schindler. Mother, Grayson, and Chris are all doing well. Welcome aboard!
