Swimming lessons begin

Monday was the opening day of the Cottonwood Aquatics Center and on Tuesday, swim lessons began.

COTTONWOOD -- Cottonwood Parks and Recreation is currently taking registrations for this year's American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" program at the pool.

Four levels of swimming are available for children ages three to 15. Sessions are two weeks long and start June 16, June 30 and July 14. The half-hour classes start at 8:30 a.m, 9:15 a.m. or 10 a.m. All classes cost $35 (additional children of the same family are $30 within the same session).

More detailed information is available in the 2009 Cottonwood Aquatics Center Guide. Register with payment at the Cottonwood Parks & Recreation office, 791 N. Main Street in Old Town, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Space is limited.

Registration deadlines for open classes will be the Thursday before each session begins.

Please pick up a pool guide at the Cottonwood Parks and Recreation office, City Hall or Library for more information.
