Marauders start week off right, top Bears 7-4
After its 8-2 loss to rival Flagstaff, the Mingus Union softball team set one goal, win the rest of the games on the schedule, and on April 14 the Marauders took their first step toward realizing that goal with their 7-4 win over Bradshaw Mountain.

Marauders track, field avoids distractions at Blue Ridge invitational
With the Brian Mickelson Marathon and prom looming, the Mingus Union track and field team went to the Blue Ridge Invitational and was able to stay focused and come back to Cottonwood with 16 top-5 finishes.

Congrats Joe!
Clarkdale fire chief Joe Moore had a slam dunk hole in one during the Verde Valley Fire Foundation Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 12, at the Coyote Trails Golf Course. Joe aced the 188-yard hole 3 using a TaylorMade Rocket Ballz No. 4 hybrid. This was Joe's third life time ace. Teammate witnesses were Kim Moore, Jalon Peters, and Pete Tafoya.

Down 12-4 at the bottom of the sixth, No. 8 Flagstaff High School's left and center fielders sprinted toward an Austin Zwart pop fly that soared behind the short stop with one out left in the inning.

Heather Calandra tops Mingus performances in prestigious Chandler Rotary meet
CHANDLER - Heather Calandra made the biggest splash in the biggest track and field pool the Mingus Union track and field team has been in this year.

Calandra finished third in the shot put during Saturday's 74th edition of the Chandler Rotary Invitational, a two-day prep showcase that attracted 124 schools and thousands of athletes from several states.
