Cottonwood parks and recreation's men's slow-pitch softball league celebrated its' halfway mark by bringing back an old tradition.
After the final slate of games were over on May 22, the two best players from each team took to the field, teams were chosen and an all-star game began.
The teams did not choose names, just home and away, and after an hour and a half full of hits and runs, the away team left the field the winners, 22-14.
The first half of the season had all of the teams playing each other and each team played 11 games. Through 11 games, one team, AZ Smile Design-Sudden Link-Team Menace, stands undefeated. Black Mountain Taxidermy-JMC suffered one loss and Moseng Chiropractic-HDH dropped two games. The other nine teams all had five or more defeats.
Now the teams will be divided into two brackets. The top-6 teams will play in one bracket and the bottom-6 in the other until the end of the season, June 3, where champions will be crowned and the best teams will have bragging rights until the next season.
