Thank you all for your kind words of support.
I would very much like to be in contact with Sgt. Antwaine Dowdy. You were more than a commanding officer to my son. You were not only a friend but you were also one of his heroes! You and your family hold a special place in my heart. You have made a great many sacrifices in serving our country. The level of leadership you demonstrated to the men you served with is of the highest quality of humanity. My son was a stronger soldier and a better man because of his time serving with you. We need more soldiers like you and my son. Thank you does not even begin to express the depth of gratitude in my heart.

(Is it possible for my contact information to be passed along to Stg. Dowdy without making it public? I would be very grateful,)

OMG Nooooooooooooo! I served as Knaacks team leader for a year at Bragg. I remember I told your mother I would watch over you when we deployed but I became injured and couldn't go with you. I stood by you as you recovered from your injuries and then i PCS'd. Knaack, I've lost a lot of soldiers in my career but this is by far the hardest loss. I was hoping that it was all a big joke... I don't understand what happened? I watched you walk out of the hospital before I left. I still can't believe this. You are truly missed.

Antwone Dowdy
Ssg. (Retired), USA

Thank you for everything, you have all tattooed my soul eternaly. I will never ever forget you all. Im sorry for everyones lost, im sorry for your grief. Please let us all remember, love is all we all got left. Love from me will never fade. Here i dedicate these words

My husband, I miss you

I sit alone now in the darkness of despair.
I cry my silent tears,
My heart is broken into a million tiny pieces.
The silence is deafening to my ears.
The darkness frightens me,
The shadows climb the wall.
I hear footsteps walking,
Passing through the hall.
The loneliness surrounds me,
It takes my breath away,
This is the pattern of my life,
Since that awful, dreadful day.
Without a clue
Without a hint
Of what was yet to be,
God called you home
To be with him
And took you away from me.
I walk, I talk. I carry on
When the sun pokes out it's head
But when darkness falls
And evening comes
I cannot go to bed.
For this is when I miss you most of all
When I curl into a little ball
And cry those silent tears.
Watching the shadows,
And missing you.

Love your Honored Wife,
Zaicha Knaack
