Obituary: Amy Williams 1961 - 2012
Amy Williams
Amy Williams

Amy Williams, 51, beloved wife of Larry and mother of Andrew, Sean and Emily, waited until all the Christmas festivities were done before drawing her last breath at her home surrounded by family, on December 25, 2012.

She was born on September 5, 1961 in Millington, Tennessee to Louise and Vincent Spalding.

A memorial service and celebration of Amy’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday January 5, 2013 at the Emmanuel Fellowship Church, 1580 E. Fir Street, in Cottonwood.

Amy loved her family, she loved to laugh and make others laugh and she loved words. She used words to describe the funny side of every situation and was frequently heard to say, “That is hilarious!”

A born storyteller, she spoke and wrote with great enthusiasm to express the beautiful and slightly wacky way she saw the world, bringing those who were lucky enough to encounter her into her loving, gentle fold. Everyone loved Amy.

Amy and Larry were active in the Multiple System Atrophy (commonly known as MSA) support group as Amy lived the last several years of her life in the throes of that illness.

The family wishes her friends would send no plants or flowers; instead please make donations to MSA online at firstgiving.com/fundraiser/amylarrywilliams/amylarrywilliamssfundraisingpage or if you’d prefer to mail your donation: SDS/MSA Support Group, 8311 Brier Creek Parkway Suite 105-434, Raleigh, NC 27617.

Take a minute to donate and to learn more so that other families may be helped by increased research into this little known, but always fatal disease.

Besides her immediate family, survivors include her sisters Claire Formilam, Pat Brubaker, Claudia Parrone, Beth Redabaugh, her brother Joe Spalding and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Information provided by survivors.
