Gladys M. Lomaintewa died February 3, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 44. She was born April 29, 1967 in Cottonwood, AZ daughter of Luke and Grace (Smith) Lomaintewa.
Gladys had a love for sports, particularly basketball, and she loved to fish. When fishing she never kept the fish and always threw them back in the water. Gladys enjoyed being around children taking them places and playing board games. She had a great love for the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel hymns, and playing drums for church during revivals. In second grade Gladys won the Miss Yavapai Apache and was titled “Little Missy.”
She is survived by her mother, Grace Lomaintewa; sister, Iris Lomaintewa, nephews; Donovan, Julian and Joshua, aunts; Hattie, Vida, Leona, Nancy and Mary Ann Padilla, Uncles; Lloyd, Bert, Manuel, Scotty, Richard (RC), Johnny and Lawerence. Survivors also include her cousins; Adrian, Ted, Frank, Darlene, Loren, and Stephanie, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Gladys’s life will be 10am Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at The Rock Church , Camp Verde, with burial to follow at Yavapai Apache Cemetery. Bueler Camp Verde Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
