Jan R van Dyke, 64 of Cottonwood Arizona passed away on Thursday December 15th 2011 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jan was born in Marshalltown Iowa, on April 2nd 1947. He graduated from Minot High School in 1965 and went on to get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business in 1971 at Minot State College. He always served in the Army Reserves. Jan worked as a branch Manager for Midwest Federal Bank for years, Metropolitan Bank, Vice President of Metropolitan Federal Bank in Minot ND for 19 years and Starion Financial in Bismarck ND for many years.

Jan moved to Arizona in 2005 and worked as Branch Manager at National Bank of Arizona for a few years. He then worked at Precision Lab as Office Manager for the past 4 years.

Jan loved to hunt and play golf but mostly loved making other people happy.

Jan was preceded in death by his father Martin van Dyke but survived by his daughter, Carrie Horton, Daughter in Law Kelley Horton, Brothers; Roger & Marty van Dyke and his dear mother Mildred van Dyke. He was also survived by his 3, 4 legged Doodles who still grieve for him and are waiting for their Grandpa to come home. The family will be receiving guests for a “Celebration Of Jan’s Life,” Wednesday from 3 to 7 pm 274 S. Filly Circle Cottonwood AZ 86326

The family asked in lieu of flowers please give a donation to the Jan van Dyke Memorial fund. Sincerely Carrie & Kelley Horton Bueler Cottonwood Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements

Jan was a basketball teammate of mine
in 1965 at Minot High School. I knew Jan
from junior high school and enjoyed his
company. He was a team player!
