Looking for the perfect pod
By Ted Grussing
I have been spending the last several days trying to get good shots of the Mesquite seed pods as they go through a red phase and am hoping for more as they continue to mature and remain attached to the branches. I like this shot and it appears that some of the "other" inhabitants of Sedona have been looking for the perfect pod, or is it that they are looking for an overly curious photographer to befriend ... eat? Anyhow, it is a fun shot and no I didn't put them there and it is pretty much as shot save for a little burn and dodge. This shot was in a tree near the end of Red Rock Cove where it junctures with Merry Go Round Rock Road.
A lot of work around here today and our big wow of the day was resting around here and enjoying the rain; had a nice walk in a light rain at days end. Dinner, a movie and the day is done. Tomorrow over to the Hilton at 5:30 P to see Anthony Mazzella perform. Join us for a fun evening if you are so inclined.
Have a wonderful day; think I'll post that movie on our website as well as the one of us taking off and disappearing into a cloud filled sky.
Be well, be grateful and enjoy the day and those you meet today ... you will have a smile as you reflect on the day.
