... was one of those days that start well and quietly come together and improve as the hours pass. The portfolio is becoming remarkably organized, our checking account went from two cents to the balance it was before an identity thief went on a spending spree with our money over the weekend and tomorrow I will have the pleasure of filing a police report. Q, Corky and I spent an hour on the deck enjoying the sun and light spring breezes, I got word that the newly designed brake system for the Lambada was approved by the factory and it now looks like I can pick it up Saturday morning and fly it home.
Late afternoon we headed down to the ponds to see what might be down there on a beautiful day like today. It was like winning the lottery starting with a not so common, Common Black Hawk, continuing with an Osprey, Eagle, and much more. The shots tonight are of the Black Hawk, first high on a perch scanning for food and then in flight as he continued the search. Check out the talons on this guy ... and I'm looking forward to sharing a thermal with him sometime in the near future.
For those who care about such things I used a Canon 5D MK III body with a Canon 400mm fixed focal length f5.6 lens. Settings were ISO 400, f 8.0, evaluative metering and the shutter speed 1/2000th second (variable - shooting in aperture mode).
Can't wait to restart today, but first the requisite period of rest. Hope your day is more than you expect and share the joy with those you meet.
Hold high your head and be an honest man.
May kindness guide your daily steps, and in each deed and thought
