Cottonwood's Joe and Armida Zepeda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 4. Joe and Armida were married in 1959 at Saint Cecilia's Catholic Church in Clarkdale. They renewed their vows at Saint Cecilia's on their 25th anniversary in 1984. They celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary by renewing their vows again at Saint Cecelia's in April. Their three children, Ricardo Zepeda, Veanette Delladonna and Arthur Zepeda are all Mingus Union High School graduates. Joe graduated in 1958 from Clemenceau High School and Armida graduated from Mingus Union High School in 1957. They are both Verde Valley natives. A retired printer, Joe began his career while still in high school in 1958 working for the Verde Independent. He worked for the Verde Independent and the Prescott Courier for 41 years. Armida worked for Lillian's Sweet Shop, the Dairy Queen and retired from Yellow Front in 1985. Very active in church activities, she taught Catechism at Saint Cecilia's for 10 years. She organized the dance group Folkorico De Colores that preformed throughout the Valley, including such places as Tlaquepaque, Verde Valley Fair and the Cottonwood Christmas Parade.
