Unsung Hero Award
On Jan. 9, Roland and Ronilee Oates from Acme Pizzeria were named the Unsung Heroes of the month on KVRD. Roland and Ronilee have been volunteering for the Verde Valley Water Festival for the past six years. They have donated over 120 pizzas helping us feed over 600 volunteers and helped provide pizza parties for 18 fourth grade classes through the years. Their generosity hasn't stopped there though. They have become the biggest partner for the Verde Valley Pink Heals event. This year alone they were able to help raise over $6,651. The Pink Heals events help women with cancer here locally and so far have been able to assist 17 women in need. From left, Roland and Ronilee Oates receive the Yavapai County Unsung Hero Award from Supervisor Chip Davis.
