ACE donates smoke detectors

COTTONWOOD -- The staff of ACE Verde Valley Hardware, on South 12th Street in Cottonwood, took time from their work schedule to present 90 smoke detectors and 120 batteries to the Verde Valley Fire District and the Cottonwood Fire Department. Verde Valley Chief Hazime, Interim Cottonwood Chief Kuykendall, and firefighters from both agencies, praised ACE's generous donation stating,

"We are very fortunate to have ACE's continuing support. Their donation enhances our efforts to educate the community and ensures that life-saving tools are available to help keep everyone safe," said Hazime

The City of Cottonwood, Verde Valley Fire District and Verde Valley Hardware have a common interest to reach out and support the community. "This is possible because of the ongoing support from businesses like Verde Valley Hardware. Part of our fire safety presentation includes providing smoke detectors and batteries to those residents who do not have the means to purchase one. For every smoke detector we provide to a family is potentially one more family we can prevent from injury or death caused by fire. And it is then that we, together, accomplish our goal," said Hazime.

The good deed done by ACE hardware does not surprise me in the least. They have a wonderful customer support staff there and are more than willing to help you find that thingamabob to fix your whatchamacallit. Unlike many of the other local stores, they actually know where their merchandise is located !!
