A long-time area educator has joined the volunteer Board of Directors of the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic. Kathy Epperson, Principal at Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary School of the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District, has been in education for more than twenty-five years as a coach, a volunteer, teacher, and assistant principal before becoming Principal at DDB in 2004.
Ms. Epperson moved to the Verde Valley while in first grade and has lived here most of her life. She wants to continue working to help improve the community by working in our schools, volunteering with organizations and being an active community member. Regarding her service on the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic Board, she says, "I could provide a perspective from my experiences as an administrator, community member and mother. Through my experiences, I am aware of the importance of setting goals and timelines in order to achieve important outcomes."
Ms. Epperson earned a Bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northern Arizona University and a Master's in Education Administration from the University of Phoenix.
The non-profit Verde Valley Guidance Clinic, founded in 1965, is Northern Arizona's oldest community behavioral health clinic. It has offices in Cottonwood, Camp Verde, and Sedona.
The Verde Valley Guidance Clinic is contracted through NARBHA, the Regional Behavioral Health Authority for Northern Arizona. Funds for services are provided through a contract with the Arizona Department of Health Services/Division of Behavioral Health Services and AHCCCS.
