The End of a Dining Era

The sign on the door Friday said that the popular Cottonwood restaurant Brandi's Kitchen had closed its doors and soon would be replaced by Annie's Restaurant. The Brandi's Kitchen Facebook page confirmed the news: "All of us from Brandi's Kitchen wish you all the best for the upcoming year! However, due to unforeseen circumstances we regret to inform you that Brandi's Kitchen has had to close down. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your continual patronage and loyalty throughout the years. We are saddened by this turn of events, but proud to have served you and been such an important staple of the community. We will miss you!!" VVN/Dan Engler

Maybe it's just because I have been around here for over 50 years, but since when does a restaurant that has been in business for 5 years total, and 1 year in it's current location closing signify "the end of a dining era"? From my view of Verde Valley history, they were short-timers.

The food was more than likely the reason. ate there once. That was enough. the cook actually yelled at us from the kitchen for having the nerve to sending back a raw still frozen hamburger patty.

It would help but most folks only care about the FOOD.Spelling is a lost art in the USA but
the menu will be the test.
It's long been an advertising ploy.Gets folks talkin.

I sure hope Annie learns how to spell 'restaurant' before the new sign is made.
